Accumulation of carbon dioxide caused global warming and drought. For the breeding of drought tolerance crops, research and development of the improvement of water use efficiency as well as drought tolerance of plants is important to advance sustainable agriculture. For the improvement of water use efficiency of plants, regulation of the balance between plant growth and responses to water stress should be analyzed more precisely.
In the international workshop on "Water stress and water use efficiency of plants", we will discuss on waterstress signaling, roles of plant hormone abscisic acid (ABA), and evaluation of important traits in crops. In this workshop, we are inviting international leaders in this research fields. In addition, we will present research outputs concerning to our projects on " Molecular analysis of water-stress sensing and signaling related to water use efficiency of plants and its application to molecular breeding" supported by Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (the former project “Programme for Promotion of Basic and Applied Researches for Innovations in Bio-oriented Industry” from 2010 to 2013).
We are looking forward to your participation in this international workshop.
